Florence, Italy, 2 to 4 February 2026

Deadline for abstract submission: 15 September 2025
Notification of acceptance by October 25th

Crop modelling has been a cornerstone of agricultural research and decision-making for decades. As global challenges such as climate change, resource degradation, loss of biodiversity, and food security intensify, the need for more advanced, integrated, and adaptable crop models becomes more critical.

iCROPM2026 aims to bring together the international research community to discuss recent advancements, foster collaboration, and chart the future of crop modelling. The symposium will focus on scientific breakthroughs, technological innovations, and interdisciplinary approaches to enhance the accuracy, applicability, and impact of crop models in addressing global agricultural challenges

Guidelines for preparation of abstracts

Please make sure that you respected the guidelines:

All proposals must be submitted and presented in English.

Text of the abstract, including if possible background of the work, aims, materials and methods, major results and conclusion, may not exceed 2 pages (maximum 3,500 characters including spaces + one figure, or 5,000 characters if you do not include a figure).

Presenting and corresponding authors should be distinguished, and the email of the corresponding author should be mentioned.

Your title should be concise and informative (<120 characters including spaces, i.e. approx. 16 words), written with lowercase letters, except for specific words (e.g. Places, Surnames) and scientific names where capital letters are needed (e.g. pH, DNA…).

You are strongly encouraged to include one visual element (figure) in your abstract (e.g. graphic, drawing, photograph, table). Figures increase your readership and give your results more chances of being known by others.

A few (maximum 5) published references can be included, using the following format: Last name of first author, (et al. if required), year, journal title (abbreviated if possible), page numbers (do not include the title of the article); do if available. If the reference is a book or a book chapter, provide last name of first author, in: title of the book, year, editor, page numbers.

A maximum of 5 keywords (different from the title) can be provided.

Abstracts must be formatted using the iCROPM2026 template you will find in the online submission form.

Once submitted it will not be possible to change/modify the abstract and no request for changes/substitutions will be accepted. In case of double submission of the same abstract, the Organizing Secretariat will reserve the right to cancel the first one submitted following the submission date.

Please note that to each abstract shall correspond one registration.

The Presenter author can present only 1 abstract.

Presenters shall be registered by the Early Bird deadline, failure to do so the abstract will not be included in the Scientific Program.
